The girls are running the game

5-15 MAY 2027

"What made you think that I was one of those girls?"

Step into the Hot Box.

Forget everything you thought you knew about Guys And Dolls. This time, the women are calling the shots.

Welcome to a world of glitter, gossip, glamour and girls who know exactly what they want. The Hot Box is more than a nightclub. It is a home, a sisterhood and the beating heart of this wild world. These women are not waiting around for their guys to decide what happens next. They have their own stories, their own ambitions and plenty to say about the men who keep getting in the way.

Set against the neon lights and larger than life characters of 1950s New York, this fresh and playful Guys And Dolls puts the Hot Box centre stage. Expect outrageous glamour, huge musical numbers, sharp comedy, big personalities and a whole lot of sparkle.

The guys might think they run the game.

They have no idea what they’ve walked into.

Director Emily Phillips says: “Guys And Dolls is packed with brilliant women, but I wanted to ask what happens when we stop treating them as characters orbiting the men and instead put their world at the centre of the story. The Hot Box feels like the perfect place to do that. It’s colourful, chaotic, glamorous and full of women who know exactly who they are.

“We’re making a version of Guys And Dolls that feels joyous and contemporary while still celebrating everything we love about the original. We’re leaning into the camp, the comedy, the spectacle and the ridiculousness of it all, but underneath that is a story about friendship, community and women creating a space for themselves. This is Guys And Dolls, but the Hot Box is calling the shots.”
