Auditioning for a Sedos show

Looking for London auditions?

At Sedos, we hold free, open auditions for all our plays and musicals and welcome members and non-members. We are committed to casting the best person for the role regardless of membership status.

Sedos seeks to build and sustain a membership that is reflective of the diverse communities within our city and we love to see a diverse range of auditionees at our London auditions. We actively encourage performers to audition for the roles which they feel best suit their skills. Any specific requirements will be detailed in the casting breakdown on individual shows’ auditions notices.

Our auditions are always posted on this page of our website and are also advertised in our weekly newsletter (sign up to the newsletter to hear about all our central London auditions).

The audition notice for each show will give details of the creative vision, the audition process, rehearsal dates, the roles on offer and how to sign up.

Most of our shows hold an online or in-person pre-audition workshop where you can find out more about the show, the audition process and meet the team. Such workshops are free to attend and open to all.

It is free to audition for Sedos shows – there is a £10 reservation fee for non-members, refunded if you attend the audition or give 72 hours notice of cancellation. All cast members have to be Sedos members, so those new or returning to the society have to join after being cast (£30 by direct debit or £40 otherwise), and pay a participation fee to be in a show (£50-80 depending on whether the show is a play or a musical and has one or two weeks of performances). We would always be open to a discussion with anyone who found our membership or participation fees a barrier to being involved.

Sedos is a London amateur theatre company and, in keeping with the ethos of amateur productions, actors are not paid fees or expenses.

We look forward to seeing you at our auditions.
